Momma

by: Teresa Lavender (a song I wrote for my mother)

Momma, where have you gone

It's Sunday once again and you're not home

oh momma- I really need to hear your voice

to help me understand this crazy world

Momma – where have you gone

did you move, did you change your number

we haven't talked in oh, so long

I need you to chase the monsters from my room

and kiss the pain away

to hold me tight, say it's alright so I can make it through the day

Momma where have you gone

are you in a peaceful place, do you think I can carry on

are you looking down upon me

can you see this road I'm on

Can you help with the confusion in my mind

I wanna hear about the things you do

and how you pass the time

And even though it's not quite true I'll tell you that I'm fine

Momma – where have you gone

well, it's Sunday once again and you're not home

Momma – where have you gone

Momma – I feel so alone

Momma – are you really gone.
