Misunderstood

Dead

By Eddie PriestPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Hanging lifeless from a tree. I smile at the world I see. For all that they have come to be and finally setting me free.

Before this moment all was mine, and knew it must be left behind. Still, I’d dream for all mankind. My hand reached for the blind to find.

I know we tried when we were one. Before and after our fun was done. To earn our place beside the sun the heavens saw how bright we shun.

My resting heart can finally close its eyes, no longer sensing all the pain and lies. My final wish for a planet that still tries. So love survives long after our goodbyes.
