Misty mountains.

Western Pennsylvania.

By David SpivakPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Breathe. Feel the mist on my arms. Focus on the

Serenity.

The majestic Appalachians rising up above and around, ever present.

Strong. Resilient. Unshakeable.

Just like this house.

The warm tones of pine and oak line the outside walls.

The cool ceramic mug, and steam from the coffee rising up.

Here, on this deck, I look out. As I have for many years.

Despite it all, this stays the same. This stays true.

No matter what chaos seeps into my life,

No matter what befalls the world,

No matter what happens to my heart,

This place is here. It’s always here.

To it, I will forever return.

Western Pennsylvania, home to the

Unshakeable mountains of old.
