When curiosity trapped the cat!

Note: I really worked hard on it. I would really appreciate some feedback - it can be on the post/ on the poem/ on the c.strip.

I was at my neighbor’s house when I witnessed a hilarious incident that soon became the highlight of my day. I was keeping my neighbor company when I went to fetch a glass of water from the kitchen.

Indulging my inner child, I glided across their glossy, reflective tiles and reached the kitchen. Just as I arrived at the door, I saw that it was "occupied." Standing there, I let the story unfold.

My neighbor’s pet cat, Naina, had come in through the window, looking both ways as if checking for observers. The mischievous sparkle in her eyes told me everything—she was up to no good!

One awesome thing about this house was the abundance of cookie jars. There were four in the kitchen, two in the living room, and one in each bedroom—typical for a family of cookie lovers. The funny part? There are no kids in the house. Everyone’s a grown adult, but their love for cookies never faded. How nice!

Back to the story: Naina, eyes fixed on the pie on the countertop, padded toward it with silent steps. She observed the treat, her little pink tongue flicking out. Then, taking a few steps back, she crouched dramatically… and pounced! The lid rattled and fell with a clatter.

Shocked, she stumbled backward into a nearby cookie jar. The lid flew off, cookies scattered across the floor, and Naina got stuck inside the now-empty jar. I could hear hurried footsteps — good! Now they’d get to witness their mischievous cat’s antics.

After a great struggle, she freed herself—only to tumble into the flour bag. Another cookie jar toppled over, but thankfully, it didn’t break or open. Phew! The cookies were saved.

Now, Naina sat in the middle of the kitchen floor, surrounded by flour and cookies, with some flour dusting her fur. She licked her paw as if to say, "Totally worth it." I couldn’t hold back any longer and burst into laughter. Feeling a hand on my shoulder, I turned to see the owner desperately stifling giggles, tears of laughter in her eyes.

Have you ever witnessed such antics?

In the kitchen, a curious cat,
Spied a pie where the lid sat ajar.
With a leap and a pat,
It knocked off the hat,
And landed right in the cookie jar!

The jar tipped, the cookies flew,
The cat looked shocked, as if it knew.
It spun around, with a graceful flair,
And ended up with dough in its hair!

Laughter echoed, the mess was grand,
Flour dusted every hand.
The cat just purred, as if to say,
"So, Worth it!"

Ha, this is absolutely paw-some! I need to meet Naina. She’s clearly the furry queen of snack heists—and she deserves her own animated series. ✨
