"Missing You"

I get up every day and do all the things I have to do.

I brush my hair and wash my face,

and then I think about

how much I am missing you.

I go about my business; trying to start my life anew.

I run my morning errands,

but all the while,

I am really missing you.

I meet my family and we go to lunch.

None of them have a clue

that while they're chatting back and forth

I'm secretly saying to myself,

"Oh! I sure am missing you."

While driving alone with no one around

my heart breaks in two.

I can finally scream and shout and lose my self control

because I am missing you.

I finish my day and try to sleep.

I toss and turn the whole night through.

For since you died and left me alone,

my mind can't relax enough to sleep

when my heart is missing you.
