Missing You

A poem dedicated to all those people who have passed on

Missing all those

loved ones like

a husband

a wife

a mother

a father

a brother

a sister

an aunt

an uncle

a grandfather

a grandmother

a daughter

a son

a cousin

or a friend

who isn't there

to talk to

to laugh with

to sing with

to shop with

because

of a virus,

an illness,

an accident,

or something

like a dreaded

virus

we call Covid-19

that stole them

from us

never to be

seen again.

But alas,

you may ask

will we

ever see them again

enjoying

their smiles

their joy

their peace

making life

fulfilling

for us

in everything

they did

when they lived.

Let's hope

we will see

their spirit

in something

or someone

again

when we least

expect it.

Their lives mattered

in everything they did

for family

for others.

Their allure

around them

their livelihood

alive

with beauty,

splendor,

grace,

magnificence,

grandeur,

charm,

wit

and all things

bright.

As time passes

in our lives

their spirit

will infect us

with happiness

and light

bringing us

an easiness

to go on

as the months

pass on by

and our distress

has turned

from grief

to a distant

mist of love.

A memory

not lost

but instilled

in our hearts.

So,

if you are missing

a loved one

today,

let their life

guide you

comfort you

impress you

till the day

comes

when we will all

meet again.

    Emotional words. Well crafted.

  • This was so touching. I was thinking about my cat the whole time. He passed away 10 months ago. I miss him so much!
