A shattered soul

Mirror, Mirror on the wall

You’re not the fairest of them all.

When she looks for her reflection

Why must you show her her own deception?

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,

Can’t you show the truth at all?

A life of love, friend and laughter

The truth now scattered, in pieces shattered.

Shattered pieces of truths once known,

Adorn her garments and her throne

Mirror, Mirror on the wall,

Beauty, kindness, grace, gone all

Veils of fabrication hide

The memories so they fade and die

Within her mind a world exists

Outside the love and truth dismissed

Mirror Mirror on the nail

Must you tell her a fabled tale?

Fallen victim to a twisted mind

Can blame be cast upon the blind?

Her life moves forward - no backward glance

As strangers join her without askance

I stagger now, try to set my course

Without a map, without recourse

I hold to memories before her fall

Still feel the joys, big and small

When the mirror, mirror on the wall

Knew she was fairest of them all.
