Mine

Love left unspoken...

Infatuated by your touch,

My heart caves from the rush,

With a reminding scent each time I take a breath,

I’m haunted by the memory of the day you came and left,

Trembling with weakness from the intoxication of you,

An addict I’ve become willing to overdose on you,

Butterflies swarm when your lips touch mine,

My clouded judgment knowing you’ll never be mine,

I try to stay away,

Yet time and time again I come running when you call my name,

Passion will burst into flames,

Snuffed out once more by a single phrase,

Longing for your touch,

A simple craving to feed the rush,

Every time you hold me, I know it won’t last,

One more tender kiss is all I ask,

As I cave to my habits of loving you,

Deep down I know your love for me was never true,

So just for tonight, I’ll cave once more,

Say you love me,

Lie and make me believe,

I’ll pretend everything is fine,

For another moment, for one second, I can call you mine.
