a poem

By Breanna LudemanPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Just the sight of you releases a stuck breath in me. A light kiss makes me smile. I never want to leave your embrace–I feel so safe and warm. I sleep much better with you next to me, especially when we’re snuggled up close. When you hold my hand, my fears dissipate. I never want you to let me go.

My heart and your heart–I know they beat as one. When you’re home, I am home. When you’re not, I am not. To be warmed by your body heat is to put me at ease. When you’re near me, I am comfortable. When you’re with me, I am free.

What life would be without you, I never want to know. Our house is our home, and it is my safe zone. You talk, I listen. You listen, I speak. I am most alive when you are with me. You are the comfort that I seek.
