Mindscape
(An English Sonnet)

A space betwixt, within, and all around
Doth resonate inside my troubled mind:
It fills with screams– the terrors lash, profound;
I am a threat to all of humankind.
I thrash about the room with padded wall.
The demons trickle in and cause alarm;
They sink into my brain and suck on all.
-
Yet there be beauty in that mind as well:
In tragedy and honest pain, there's peace;
Perhaps 'tis what doth scare me 'bout this hell.
Prithee, ye demons in the dark, do cease.
Oh, Paranoia that dost wrap my head,
Wilt thou embalmst me when my brain is dead?
