My nocturnal life, what a delight.
Some people thrive in the light while I come alive at night.
My eyes open when the sun is departing.
Casting its colorful bright hues across the sky’s horizon starting my day,
As my body rises from its deep slumber, I am no longer tired.
This is my time.
I am now awake and shine,
Eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the comfort of the night’s sublime.
Counter clockwise to the rest of the world,
My body feeds off the energy of the night jewel pearled.
There is something very special about this lack of light,
I feel it is all mine: quiet, peaceful and fun, I ignite.
I can dance, play, and write into the infinite moonlight.
The moon is my sun, my warmth, my light.
It is a different kind of light, even though not so very bright.
It peaks all my senses, especially my internal light.
Everything is so much more beautiful to me at night.
There might not be an assortment of colors.
Yet, there is one color that matters the most,
The color of my spirit,
Midnight blue where my being is most true.
I venture out in nature in the dark,
Together with the moon I embark,
Following its glowing adventures in the moonlight’s spark.
Indoors my candles and lanterns, red swirling flames burn,
While in my heart all the true wonderful colors of the world I discern.
