Mid-sentence

Written for the "Somewhere between here and there!" Challenge

By KA Stefana Published 7 months ago 1 min read
Brugge, Belgium - Summer 2025

My voice trailed off mid-sentence

Fleeting thought lost to the abyss

My eyes stared past the water's surface

Disrupted, disturbed as the boat sped by

The muffled voice broke the silence

The story hung in the air

While tourists clicked their cameras

Collecting photographs of cathedrals and towers

I waved to the next group

Racing round the corner

Before I shut the window

And grabbed a sweater
