The world sparkles

when all are asleep

and comets follow

where children sleep.

and when they sleep,

the stars they dance

graceful glimmering forms,

across the sky they prance

leaving trails of silver, trails of white

on a cold and lonely autumn night

my eyes search the skies

with eager delight

at 3am, on a weeknight

wondering about other places

distant dreams, familiar faces

igniting my mind, lighting a fire,

the things my heart has always desired

seem so far, so distant, never near

but I always wish for them, right here

maybe one day I will know

but until then, I just enjoy

nature's beautiful light show.
