Metamorph

An incredible journey

By Colleen WaltersPublished about a year ago 2 min read

Hello, caterpillar.

You are so pretty, with your yellow graduating to orange, and I love your “eyes”! You’re a butterfly undercover and even those eyes are part of your disguise. Your many little feet carry you along the path of many surfaces with ease and grace, as you start your journey.

How do you know which way to go? How do you know it’s time to build your cocoon? We wonder about these things, yet you know exactly where to go and what to do- and we think we’re a superior species…

You been created to crawl along the earth for a specified time on a perilous journey, fraught with predators and terrain challenges. And when the time is right, you’ll crawl to greater heights to create your transformation chamber. There you’ll trade your smooth colorful shell for a set of velvety wings, all while you patiently wait. As your old body gives way to your new being, you may not even know the enormity of you. From this caterpillar body to a awe-inspiring Spicebush Swallowtail butterfly.

How many people see you crawl along and think “ look, a caterpillar” and keep going without a second thought to the miracle of you. You, a caterpillar, that will emerge as a majestic butterfly! You have been endowed by your Creator to metamorph from a ground walker to sky flyer. The same Creator that metamorphs us from ground walkers to heaven dwellers, will transform your simple caterpillar form into a butterfly that will pollinate our earth for us.

Our hearts are transformed, while we are here, from caterpillars to butterflies and it’s all by design. The world can keep us in the caterpillar stage unnaturally, but He will work incessantly to make our hearts into beautiful winged pollinators. Pollinating other hearts, planting seeds of Compassion and Empathy far and wide, watching them grow and bloom into Love. Then watch as the caterpillars show up in their own field of dreams, being drawn by an unseen force, as they spin their cocoons and patiently wait for their rebirth as butterflies. The field of Hope is where they’ll rest, and let their new wings dry before they take flight and soar toward the heavens.

The miracle of metamorphosis complete here on earth.

Hello, butterfly.
