I used to fly
Used to soar
Like Mercury with liquid wings
On my heels, carrying me
Up into the sky
꒰ঌ ໒꒱
Now I lay
On the ground and cry
Silvery tears
My wings
Leaking out but never drying
꒰ঌ ໒꒱
I dipped my quill into
The bubbling shine
Traced into the air a line
Filled with elation
I stepped upon the
Reflective segment but
Hesitation left me
Grounded once more
➽─────────❥
Now, cold metal tears
Spill every night
Refilling my bottomless well
Reforming into the amorphous miracle
The fluid material constructing
Each curve and splattered line
Letting me run on thin cold air
🫙ᝰ🪶
I do not fear running out
Neither do I sweat or shout
The solitary high life
My penance and my
Retreat amongst the clouds
All I ever wanted
I am never coming down
