Mentally 14

Youthfulness is an artifact

I'll preserve

for my entire life.

I'm physically 24

but I'm mentally 14

and not ashamed of it!

Anime video clips,

Vine compilations, YA fantasy novels,

drum and bass music and punk music;

These teenage things

that will never become

obsolete, strange and ludicrous.

Staying young in the head

liberates me

from the melancholy thoughts

of adulting too rapidly.

It protects me

from the brain and soul aches

I get from chronic stress

and past trauma.

Youthfulness is a pendant

I wear wherever I go

and leave on this planet.

I'm physically 24

but mentally 14

and proud to be that way.

Life is too short

to not be who

you desire to be!
