Mental Health Awareness Month.

Some thoughts come to mind...

By RhiPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I'm glad we are looking / staring, honestly / watching people who can't swim / drown / and then we post about it / with a hashtag. We host a seminar / about being aware / and looking.

I have an idea.

Let's stop staring / watching / let's change the standards / the assumption that 9-5 is normal / the ignorance towards sitting being the next smoking. Let's change making me pay for a standing desk out of pocket just so I can walk again / use my body / that’s jealous of wild horses.

I have to book time off to physically move my legs / I have to finish on time or I can't be human / and by human, I do mean living/ enjoying things for the sake of senses / we exist to feel / I haven’t felt much.

I feel fluorescent lights / I feel my hands cramping from too much / legs cramping from too little. I feel tired eyes. I feel like this air freshener is pretending to be fresh air and it's making me sick / physically / mentally.

Oh, good I'm aware I'm mentally ill. I should post about it / I'll write a cute little poem about it for everyone to see / stare / watch me squirm / under crushing weight in my chest / my heart / my eyes are heavy / even my brain is saying “I can't watch this”.

But Im glad people are looking.
