C’allate la boca!

(Shut your mouth!)

I am not one

to leave someone

behind

If you

need to sit in silence

Mendes with a “z”

look up,

ALLOW

the shapes

form

KALEIDOSCOPES

Smoke and mirrors

in the clouds

Stuck on the shoulda coulda woulda’s

C’allate la boca!

(Shut your mouth!)

Mendes with a “z”

I will pick you up,

again, and again

Even if

PURPOSELY

you tripped me

My magical illusion

with all the embers

of fight inside me

C’allate la boca!

(Shut your mouth!)

Mendes with “z”

I will stand,

beside you,

unwavering

I will stand,

support, spitfire, sullen

thoughts

UNLEARN

the behavior

THAT says

in order to love you,

I must love myself-

You change as rapid

as the seasons

Growth drastic

as the rings of a red oak

THAT

inner critic verbalizes

I’m NOTHING

I’ve got NOTHING

C’allate la boca!

Mendes with a “z”

You’re lungs

take in air

Your heart races;

like the sun chase the moon

Rest assured

there’s no other soul

like you,

So silencio!

(be quiet!)
