Mended

from the heart you stole

By Melissa RosatiPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

It was a heavy load

On a winding road

Trying to fill the hole

Of the heart you stole

With pain from the blue

When lies replaced truth

When hearts became cold

Love no longer shown

I struggled to be alone

But I would have to make it

I would have to fake it

I would have to let go

Of those memories I hold

Only then I'll advance

When given the chance

For continuous smiles

And endless miles

For holding hands

For love again

For my heart will heal

When my mind is correct

Happiness I'll steal

When true love takes affect.
