Memory Unwound
A Poetry Challenge Poem

Tempest clouds converge above wind whipped seas
As fierce waves thrash rocks and crash against cliffs.
Splashes spray up on an empty lighthouse,
Beacon bright to alert lost mariners.
****
One step backward from the alluring view
Reveals a sales tag dangling from a frame.
Too much exposure to place on home walls,
Left for some other to find and obtain.
****
Not a tear escaped from begged release
To dive into welcoming deep waters.
A farewell glance back before taking leave,
An anchor forever secures a soul.
A ship spared from endless fatal attacks.
Or as sunlight dawns and pierces dark clouds.

I’d return from the grave and do it all over again for playing the violin and writing poetry. Yet there’s always the possibility for worlds to collide and dash bliss, as countless times before.
