Memory of Home

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 2 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

Your memory feels like a gentle flame,

It warms the shadows, it calls my name.

Through the whispers carried by the night,

You’re the comfort glowing soft in light.

When my restless thoughts begin to roam,

They find their way to a place I know.

In the quiet corners of my heart,

You’ve built a home that won’t depart.

Chorus

So whenever my mind drifts, it finds its way,

Back to the love we shared, the joy we replay.

In the sound of your laughter, in the calm of your smile,

Your memory feels like home, it lingers all the while.

Verse 2

Every road I’ve taken, each turn I’ve faced,

Carries echoes of your voice that time can’t erase.

Through the storms and through the skies so clear,

You’re the anchor that keeps me near.

With every breath, with every sigh,

I’m reminded of your grace inside.

Your presence stays, though miles may part,

A living song within my heart.

Chorus

So whenever my mind drifts, it finds its way,

Back to the love we shared, the joy we replay.

In the sound of your laughter, in the calm of your smile,

Your memory feels like home, it lingers all the while.

Bridge

Though the distance may stretch, love holds strong,

Like a beacon guiding me all along.

With each heartbeat, every thought I choose,

Your memory feels like home, a gift I can’t lose.

Chorus

So whenever my mind drifts, it finds its way,

Back to the love we shared, the joy we replay.

In the sound of your laughter, in the calm of your smile,

Your memory feels like home, it lingers all the while.

Outro

Through the tapestry of years, in the stories we weave,

Your memory feels like home, a truth I believe.

No matter where I wander, near or far I roam,

In the depths of my heart, your love is home.
