Memory Lanes

… bring forward days of old.

Since you left them to carry on their ways

they have been busy linking up the chains

that connect today to its yesterdays;

laying down tomorrow’s memory lanes.

.

Making sense of old roads and rusty tracks,

reassembling what was buried beneath

a pile of long-forgotten knicks and knacks

and paper packs; as was time’s bequeath.

.

So here we are where old meets new again:

no where lost, now here, in a space between

the space that claims itself as now and then;

where timeless tales are coloured ever green.

.

… memory lanes bring forward days of old

… they hint at future paths as may unfold.

.

About the Creator

Tim Grace

A first impression has a lasting effect - it makes a notable difference. In a subtle way that’s who I am as a poet. A ‘first impression’ looking for the gentle ‘twist’ that draws attention to a novel observation.
