Melting Minds and Icecaps
On environmental and psychological collapse
Antarctic illusions are frozen under the ice.
The worst fear is here and has always been near.
To be melted,
to be covered
with waters and darkness.
*
Highs and lows of overwhelming disasters
A depression of senses so deep,
so supreme,
It's cathartical for some,
It may be deemed serious.
*
Like a mindless complexion inducing perfection
It can crumble down,
Melt into the void,
With a wild woosh,
A swooshing sensation of solace.
*
Across centuries, life as we know it would collapse in itself.
Embarrassing to humanity, it would overflow our actions,
Our worst mental health conclusion would become luscious.
*
Is all the madness worth it?
Do we exist to thrive?
Do we care about ice caps collapsing?
Are we mindlessly consuming our comfortable egos?
Who’s here to judge and juggle with life?
*
But when the ice has melted, the seas have overflown,
With our consciousness soaken there would be no return.

Are we mindlessly consuming our comfortable egos? Hit the nail on the head.
This was extremely powerful! If it melts completely, we'd all be gone. Loved your poem!
