Melody

of the Heart

Hymn to Hope

Music became a lifeline for me three years ago when I found myself alone and without direction.

I have never been a genre kind of girl- I like a lot of different kinds of music, some for the lyrics, some for the melody and some for the instrumentation and how it creates an emotive feeling in me.

This song is a lovely "hymn to hope". A lone violin calls out in a plaintive searching and a bagpipe tenderly responds with a cradling of the notes and a reassurance for the heart. The heart remains steady as it finds hope on the horizon.

Some instruments are sometimes maligned for their sound and we have all no doubt heard the pipes belt out Amazing Grace and we stereotype the pipes as a marching and belting-out instrument. But here we get to enjoy their gentle side as well they encourage us with a quiet flow of beautiful music to give us hope.

"Sandpiper" is another highly emotive composition that is ethereal in its demeanor.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
