Press play.
It starts with a clearing breathe. A deep inhale through the nose and a slow exhale through the mouth; posturing the self into the present moment.
Finding a seat where stillness is my friend.
The monkey-mind is harnessed by the breathe. The music alters the internal environment. I feel my jaw unclench and my shoulders drop as the guitar is elegantly plucked.
Holding myself with a certain lightness. It's almost like forgiveness in motion.
I find myself going back to a familiar visual.
I'm running through a field of sunflowers. Yellow, green and blue flash in my line of sight. For some reason I'm miniature, almost like 'Honey I Shrunk the Kids."
I find one particular sunflower and begin climbing up the stem. Using the leaves as grips, I find my mini-self engulfed by the brown center.
It's in the center of the sunflower where I sprawl my legs out and let my arms go.
I look up at the sky and watch my thoughts drift by in the form of clouds. No judgement, no meaning, no attachment, simply just watching.
It's here where I am lost and also found.
It's here where I go when no one else is around.
It's here where I observe and create space.
It's here where I slow down and give myself grace.
