Meaningless Sex by Candlelight

A poem about life and light

By Monica HessPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

A moment of passion

A moment of lust

Fills my heart with disappointment

Discuss:

Was it less

Was it more

Was I just a number

Just another score

It is a moment now lost

Moving to the rhythm of never ending silence

With the soft pounding of the heart

Exposing the true shape and only leading back towards the dark corner

no maybe no might

Forever lost in a slow dance

A flame that struggles to keep burning

As it peers into the window of reality

Burning only when touched

Moving on until it is out!

A flame blown out by a sweet breath

heartbreak
