May I introduce you
To the glasses that I wear
I will let you borrow them
To get a glimpse into my cares
~
Can you observe more clearly
The world that my eyes see?
Does it give you a small taste
Of what it’s like to be me?
~
Do you feel how snug they fit?
How the nose squeezes tight?
How the left lens raises just a bit
Higher than the right?
~
As I see you in my spectacles
This is something new
As I’ve never seen you wear anothers’
To get their point of view
~
I invite you to keep my glasses
Please have them within reach
So you can remember to put them on
When another person speaks
~~~
Pieces of Me ~ Poems by Heidi
In 2022, I came across a bin of my journals spanning many years. It was then that I realized I haven’t told people I enjoy writing or shared my work publicly. I decided to start.
