Age is a fine wine
Sipped in minutes
Savored over days
Measured across lifetimes.
Wine sweet,
Wine dry,
Wine bitter,
Wine sly.
A heady..albeit..lovely intoxication
Creeping
Like vine up a wooden trellis
Lacing in , pigtailing, braiding...
Leaving tangible traces of greenery
Memories imparted
Of where it's been
Where it was,
Pointing to where it's going.
A life perfectly matched to its surrounding.
Finite in its destination
All things must come to an end
Close the book
We lift the final glass
Take a drink-time elapsed
Light a candle to the night...
An offering to the dark
To take us safely home.
PEACE
