Masterpiece of His Abuse
Or His Dark Muse - Dark Poetic Introduction/excerpt for a forthcoming horror story.
So the bells toll
So all will know
His time has come
His will be done
As the moon rises
They lift their disguises
Dance until the dawn
Until hope is gone
No better tomorrow
Drown in the sorrow
He'll tear at your heart
His perfect work of art
You'll be his dark muse
Masterpiece of his abuse

Author's Note: Currently working on a story in my WIP folder that includes this poem. The story is not ready yet, but I'm pleased with the darkness and intrigue of the poem as a standalone piece, so wanted to publish it as an intro/taster for the story.

My New Book is Finally Here
My poetry collection Beautiful and Brutal Things is done. It's actually done and finally published over 270 pages. Over a year of my life went into this book. More than a year, really. Long days at my computer, sometimes seven days a week because I couldn't stop even when I probably should have. Then two months of editing that felt harder than the writing itself. But it's finished, and I'm still standing, and the book is real.

OOOh, this actually reminded me of a storyline in a show called Snowpiercer. The main villain abuses this beautiful woman, who does the artistic shows. She is a broken masterpiece, shaped by his manipulation. This is beautifully written!
