Fire in your eyes,

I tried to put it out with

the tears in my own.

//

You fanned the flames with

the winds of your disdain and

refused to be quenched.

//

I wept an ocean,

carved caverns in the deep earth

of my yearning heart,

//

So I could hide in

darkness, as you sent out your

searching, sweeping flames.
