Masculinity

by Mel

By 'Lissa StufflestreetPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

Masculinity;

something a lady could never understand..

as men would say.

'Oh, you just wouldn't understand,' they'd tell us

constantly.

It's funny,

you see.

Men seem to think we can't understand what they're thinking,

or what they're saying,

simply because we're a woman.

It's just funny.

These same men go around bragging about the decisions they've made,

in order to give themselves some kind of street cred,

that they never truly see how we also see it.

We see them.

We see it all.

The hand gestures.

The cackling behind our backs.

The endless jokes you all make.

We can see it.

It's what scares us,

really.

The knowing.

That's why we're all so afraid.

The knowing,

that even without saying a single word,

you know exactly what it is

that makes us all terrified of you.
