Reclined on sheets of flower and fruit

I feel you percolate

the way citrus unravels

across a field, from a jar

you draw a spoonful of marmalade

separate the rind and weigh it against my heart

be still

there are things you don’t know about me

I have cut my teeth on a paper rose

when I see linen skies I think of you

and I find solace in bent meadow grass

in the way you inelegantly stand

unadorned in the humid glow

and walk along a path of orange peels
