The world will go dark for over 6 minutes during one of the longest total solar eclipses of our lifetime.

This isn’t just any eclipse. It’s a rare cosmic event that won’t happen again like this for 100 years. The path of totality will sweep across southern Spain, North Africa, and the Middle East, with Egypt expected to offer some of the clearest skies.

When the Sun Steps Back

On the second of August

the sun will vanish

not hide, not soften

just step back

Six minutes

of nothing moving

no birds

no engines

no noise that matters

People will look up

but no one will speak

because this

is not a moment

for words

It won’t come again

not for a hundred years

and even if it did

we won’t be here

not like this

So remember

how it felt

when the sky forgot the rules

and we all stood still

in the middle of the day
