What is Man? What is a Man?
Who gets to ask the questions? Who gets to give the answers?
I’m not a Man that can speak for all men. Every single one of us is different
The closest I can get to answering for Man is answering for myself
I am a Man that knows what he wants, but realizes what he wants changes everyday
I’m a Man who wants a simple life, a house, family, my beautiful wife
I would be proud to be a one woman Man,but I’m sure you can tell by how I wear these threads and rock these dreads……best believe I can be the ladies’ Man
I am a selfish Man, I’ll admit it
But if I had to choose, I’m a Man who would give up everything for the few things I care about more than myself, believe it
Inside this one Man you see in front of you, lies a million contradictions and hypocrisies
But at the same time, inside this Man are a million big dreams and ideologies
I’m only 126, I’m kinda light.
I am a Man of peace, but I’m also a Man that’ll handle business if I see shit going the opposite of east
I try to be an honest Man, but I also know when it’s time to lay down some sweet lies, y’know hit a Tyra Banks and smile with your eyes
I’m still a learning Man, so this next part just bear with me, I’m just introducing you to the fear within me
I believe you gotta get life right after only so many tries, but this Man also believes that the Phoenix will always rise
See, this Man fears he’ll amount to nothing, but his people would tell him he’s just buggin
It’s a whirlwind, it’s a storm. The same kinda storm his parents dealt with when this Man was born
I know that to succeed as a Man, I need to shake this fear, but it’s hard when that fear is always near
But it’s alright, this Man knows he has to keep moving forward until his last breathe, his eyes close tight
No matter how down he is, this Man is never out of the fight
Looking into myself gave me some real insight. Looking at yourself shows you things in a new light
But as I look into the mirror of my soul, this Man knows that all he’ll see is me
For that is all I am and ever I have been, just this Man
But the same goes for every other Man
Wether you go by he, she, they, them, or whatever works for you, each one of us is only a small part of what’s meant to be
For He is I and I am Him. Just a Man
