Making Sense of the World
I realize, it's a snake and ladder world

If you are a believer,
you have your reasons.
Most likely,
you learned from your family.
The world is full of griefs,
often hard to make sense of,
so, we invented the Gods,
Anyway, for me,
science has been enough,
so smooth or rough,
I don't summon God.
Many things are hard to grasp,
why qualified people are dismissed,
and criminals are elected.
A liquor seller uncle
gets rich to build temples?
Why terrorists shoot
when you are savoring nature?
Why your loved country,
joins war, becomes gory?
Why a father gets mad
and murders own kids?
Why cherubic little children,
fall dead from a plane?
Despite all these riddles,
I don’t want to feel confused,
and ask or blame God,
for I know, we live,
in a world of gambles,
snakes and ladders,
randomness, entropy,
Brownian movement
of random collisions,
and I get my answers.
Melancholic it may seem,
we are naïve, if we think
all will go well,
that we will be served fairness,
and our journey will be
cakewalk or carnival,
that's just delusion.
We must develop resilience,
and learn to 'let go'.

I appreciate the honesty and grounded perspective. This is beautifully written, and quietly powerful.
Yep, to think like that is so delusional. We just gotta accept things. Loved your poem!
