Making Love at Her Parents'

I wrote this poem back when I was in my early 20’s. I must have been 21 or 22 at the time, and it was during that time of my life in which poetry and music was the best thing for my spirit. It was also the early 90s, and rock music was blowing up with massive talent and was heard all over the airwaves. Don’t get me wrong, poetry is still a remedy for me. However, back in those days, it was fresh and felt sublime. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this poem that I decided to bring out of the vault.

Thank you.

Making Love at Her Parent’s

Hush, we make love, we make love,

we make love.

Shhhhhh, we’re in love, we’re in love,

just a couple of doves.

-

Squeak!

We stop the love.

-

Listening to the empty air,

the house crackling,

the others breathing.

-

Imagining what the others think,

while a ring in my ears disguises

their snooping.

-

We take a position and wait.

-

Again we continue our love disguised

in deep sleep position.

-

Hush.
