Making It Whole

Two Broken

By Chris JacquesPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

You say you're waking up, after dusk,

memories won't fade away.

Life is short, but you know there is someone here

that can stay.

You gave many people your all

Yet they still take it away

You gave them your broken piece,

and that's where it'll stay.

Don't worry, I know your pain

We are two broken people and somethings never change

People who seem fixed aren't always as blissed

as what they show to be.

I'm not lying when I say we could be good,

just open your eyes and see.

We are two broken people, with two broken hearts

but together we could make it whole.

You say you're crying in your sleep, with different colors on your body,

not knowing where to go.

This feeling inside strangles your mind

and you have nowhere left to run.

It's just the past, so untie your heartbreak noose.

Its just a memory, don't let it consume you.

The future is still bright for you too.

It's okay to open up, you know I'll always be in touch.

The cliffs that you jump seem like the go on forever.

The eyes that show fear,

They can't hide forever.

We are both freefalling, hoping someone will catch us soon.

But since we are together, lets not freefall forever,

and make this life feel new.

We are two broken people, with two broken hearts

but together let's make it whole.
