make me wild
the sacred Earth molds me

Mother Earth, Goddess Selene—
come to me in my deepest dreams
and make me wild—
rip this violent comfort out from under my unsteady feet
and throw me,
with face flushed and eyes wide,
into the vast unknown.
I will walk this hallowed Earth,
bare feet bruised and bloody,
weaving between trees towering over me—
their fallen twigs and leaves tangled in my wild hair—
climbing over snow-capped mountains,
gently kissing the stars above.
And I will stumble to the other side,
the borderlands of this indefinite universe,
breathing deep and heavy,
the very sky above me swirling within my lungs—
arms outstretched—
fire flickering in my wild eyes.
