Majesty

For those of you who aren't aware, one of my favorite type of poems are poems about writing. When you write a poem about writing the form is known as "ARS Poetica". There's over 168 forms of poetry and a good site to investigate each form can be found at: Writersdigest.com

I want to write a poem

that is like a symphony

one that will pull at your heart

and add beauty to your soul.

I want to write something like

that before I grow too old.

I want to cry as I write the poem

and have it take the world by storm

as it moves their tears to become

raging rivers, their spirits bold and

loving without worries, fears, not a

even a shiver.

Hundreds of people would read my poem

and let me know their feelings, the

very movement of their souls would

kick in a boost of dopamine that would

leave me reeling.

--

Maybe my ambitions are too much,

too haughty, and too grand but I want

to knock my readers off their feet

from the very spot they stand.

--

If I could write this majesty,

bleed with pen and ink and lay

my words bare, I would feel I had

given back the world something

worth the share.

--

This would be my masterpiece for

all the world to read, then I could

say I did one thing, one final

amazing deed.
