Maia's Poems: Black Winter

"Amid the chill of winter's grasp, hope blooms eternal."

Night falls into the dark gloom,

As winter shades the light of a moon.

The heart is cold as ice,

Shadows linger out of sight.

Whispers ride the frigid air,

A haunting tune, a frozen prayer.

Branches claw the starless sky,

Echoing dreams that wilt and die.

Yet in this void, a spark takes hold,

A fleeting warmth amidst the cold.

Through blackened frost, a quiet plea,

For spring to set the spirit free.

Will there be freedom? Or will there be a demise?

For all is well, cold seasons are still wise.

Like Maya Angelou, and still, I rise.

Through icy storms and shadowed skies.

The frost may bite, the winds may sting,

Yet whispers of hope ride on each wing.

For winter’s grip, though fierce and tight,

Prepares the soul for dawn's first light.

Beneath the snow, life softly sleeps,

Dreams buried deep where silence keeps.

But soon the thaw, the warmth, the bloom,

Will banish every trace of gloom.

So fear not, heart, the black winter's reign,

For even in darkness, strength remains.
