V ibrations echoing from core memories

I ntonations writing a symphony of inclinations

O leander pages, conduit stirring cadenzas through artist to ear

L ilting melodies produce oceans of tears

I nsinuating sonatas pluck at taut heartstrings

N ostalgia’s caramel tones ring out loud and clear

π„ž

H ollow metallic pinging, reminiscent of icicles clinking

A ngelic strikes, chime in rhythm

R ing in each flake that falls from heaven

P ristine tones, swirl through air, opaque, and wispy

S lick sounds flow like wobbling mercury

I cily beading, hailing pearls of melancholy

C hills trickle down the spine, a keyed-up crescendo

H olographic auditory bliss, dynamic stanzas like blizzards flash

O rchestrated spectral projections wink and glance

R ising tide of snowy tintinnabulation

D eveloping layers of tone and timbre over incidental reverberations

An acrostic take on the violin and harpsichord. I wrote the acrostic for Violin two years ago when I went with my husband and a couple of friends to see Lindsey Sterling's show, The Snow Waltz Tour. It was fantastic, and I have a couple of other pieces I will share this winter, inspired by the show and her music. The new part for the harpsichord was inspired by our venture to see Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas by Chip Davis.

I have never celebrated Christmas, but I do celebrate excellent music and the joy that brings individuals and families. It really was a family show; there were little ones all over the audience, dancing and clapping along, which really warmed the heart. We got these tickets through a drawing from the hub's new job, and we got to meet an employee from a different department and their child.

The show was really lovely, with light effects and even some snow that fell on the audience down below us. I was happy to find I was more comfortable, feeling less vibrations, in the top overhanging seats. We have a relatively new event center, fairly small, but well-designed. I have been very happy with the experience both times we saw a show there. I did get separated from the hubs on the way in while he parked, but the lack of crowds and helpful staff, along with my noise-cancelling earbuds, helped everything turn out all right.

It is wonderful that those fantastic concerts inspired such expressive writing, and it sounds like the Mannheim Steamroller show brought a lot of heartwarming joy. Beautiful Acrostic!

Such a gorgeous acrostic, every line feels like music you can almost hear. The winter imagery and sound textures are stunning together. Loved this piece. β€” Annie from the SoftlyWished Team
