Mad Men, Millionaires, and False Guns

Poem

Mad Men, Millionaires and False Guns

When the perpetrators stand it's time to punch them all

in the mouth

The map shows distinction, and my voice

find yourself there

A blonde is on a leash paying makeshift false demigods

in magistrate robes

Driving like minds wild

Door stops, foot steps, pathways straight in the leaves, and I can't tell if he's running after me or toward me

he's so far away

Dark waves descend

The light still shines through if you look up though

The more I turn my back the stronger I am

The sand of the future is scorching and I can't wait to feel it

Hold that feeling, hold that song, like it's the past tense of everything

because it is

The light is effervescent from here, it even says so in the clouds

look, see

There's a moment of forgiveness somewhere in the centre of it

but my bones don't know it

This blend of instruments is so intense and this song I can't stop

listening to reminds me of everything that I can't write here

Here it is again

Youthful starts, cross your heart, it's all fun and games until, y'know

Mad men, millionaires and false guns make the way clear

Every which way I turn

Mad men, millionaires and those with false guns run, run, run

The moment of forgiveness, but the bones don't know it. You gave me glimmers of hope then shrouded them, which sucked, but was also kind of great.

  • Sometimes when I read something I try and decipher what I think the author means. But then some works have to be viewed from the reader’s point of view. This is one of those. Mad men, millionaires, and false guns makes me think about those that are running the United States government at this current time. I don’t wanna get too deep into it but I am seeing very influential and rich people who are out there to promote and further the cause of other very wealthy people, such as billionaires, Under the guise of religion. They are elevating themselves up to demigod status and those that follow them are falling for it. I call them wolves in sheep’s clothing. That’s as far as I will go with this. This is well written Lisa. Good work!
