Lying On The Doctor's Table

this seems relevant now more than ever

By Isabella WalkerPublished 12 months ago 1 min read
(artist not found)

It seems wrong

letting a doctor pry

her open, like the man

who left this life inside her

---

The cold metal of the curette

looping and looping

around what remains

---

A warm tear streams down her face

burning against the cold below

---

Her back aches with pressure

Her legs shake with agony

---

She squeezes her hands

She curls her toes

---

And knows that she isn’t going to be the same

after he's taken his hands out of her

after he's taken out

an unwanted part of her
