LUMINOUS

The Light I See

By George ZelinskiPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

Allow me to shed some light

I’ve shared it nearly all my life.

Making newer days shine bright

Leaving darkest just for night

If I revisited claimed mistakes

With grief my heart would ache.

Darkened days do light waste

In luminous I claimed my stake

Life’s lessons into my way came

In cruelty, they shamed my name.

What I saw they chose to blame

Light bright colors that I frame

Let there be light, so said a Book

A time they say Earth first shook

Fate's worldly views is what it took.

Bending light to make you look

This inner lantern’s guiding me

Through any darkness I still see

People, trees, water pools and lilies

Painted it vague and said let it be

Changed from masters of the past

First impressions they judged fast.

Stoked the light as new dies cast

Shined a lantern that will ever last

When life brings the dark of night

A lantern’s aura will turn it bright.

Our lanterns are there to shine

Create light like its Sunrise time.
