Lullaby of the Waves

- A Moonlit Sonata

By Dawnxisoul393artPublished about a year ago 1 min read

The call of seabirds echoes

their nests their sanctuary

As the moon rises

its radiance stretching to meet sea

With gentle, measured steps

it climbs to its lofty perch

Illuminating the world below

none daring to interrupt

/

Each buttonwood bloom

each aquatic plant

each winged creature

Remains silent and still

the world in slumber's peaceful feature

Only the vast, boundless sea remains

awake, serene and content

Swaying and smiling, its waves

with the wind's whispers blent

/

The waves, bathed in moonlight

roll softly towards the shore

Then vanish, their murmurs fading

their dance complete once more

As night deepens, the sea drifts off

lulled by the wind's refrain

a soothing lullaby, again and again

/

Under the bridge where water meets sky

The vast sea smiled contentedly

Clouds reflect the light of the moon

Waves quivering peacefully in dreams

The breeze, with its soft hands

weave the snoring of the sea

into a gentle meditation whisper
