~Lullaby!~

One of the most honest and hardest songs of my life to write. Because it was so real and raw as it was happening in my life, trying to write a song/story about it while living through it! This piece is part of the Album: Just Jen: Not Necessarily Love Songs! From the Box Set of: Melodies of Israel! Thanks for your interest and support!

~ Lullaby ~

Verse 1....

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do,

Accept to sing a lonesome lullaby

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do

To help get you through,

Not understanding why

You’ve been left

To feel this way,

As you live through your life

Each and every day

Again and Again and Again

Again and Again and Again

Again and Again and Again

Chorus...

You crawl into bed

Every night all alone,

Holding your pillow tight

Knowing that it might

Just stay that way,

Again and Again and Again

Verse 2...

Your mailbox is empty

So you know to stay away,

Never a card or two

And No Valentines

Ever sent to you,

Never a first kiss

Under a mistletoe

A feeling you would love to know

Verse 3...

As you crawl out of bed

Each and every day,

You know the only thing

That you can do,

Is to cry and to pray

To find the strength

To get you through,

Reminding you you’re

Not all alone

Even though at times,

It feels that way

Again, and Again, and Again

Again and Again and Again

Verse 4...

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do,

To ease the pain in you,

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do,

To help get you through;

You crawl into bed every night all alone

Holding your pillow tight

Knowing that it might

Just stay that way,

Again, and Again, and Again

Again, and Again, and, Again

Again and Again and Again

Verse 5...

As you sleep at night all alone

Losing out on pillow talk

That you know should be there,

Thinking of the message from your heart

That you were trying to get through,

And how it may never find its way

To the one you meant for it too!

So as you sing that lullaby

Knowing that what you’ve lost

Is certainly true,

As you live through your life

Each and every day,

You’re wondering if

They’ll ever be

Someone new

Who can fill your heart

The way you need him too?

Chorus...

As you crawl into bed

Every night all alone,

Holding your pillow tight

Knowing that it might

Just stay that way,

Again, and Again and Again

Again and Again and Again!

Intended (longer ending)

Verse 6...

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do,

To ease the pain in you,

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do,

To help get you through;

You crawl into bed every night all alone

Holding your pillow tight

Knowing that it might

Just stay that way,

Again, and Again, and Again

Again and Again and Again

Again and Again and Again

Verse 7 & Chorus change up...

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do,

Accept to sing a lonesome lullaby

When there’s nothing else left

That you can do

To help get you through,

Not understanding why

You’ve been left

To feel this way

As you live through your life

Each and every day

Again, and Again, and Again!

Again, and Again, and Again and Again!
