I saw you
behind the tree
sneaking a peek my way
we spend a lot of
time together, you and I
truth be told
you know all my secrets
even the secret ones
that I don't know about
all my hopes
like frizzy ropes
and dreams
top secret
invisible ink
but you know
them by heart
you glow
with your borrowed
light
just for me
your smile shines
on my face
in the dark
lighting my way
if anybody asks
where I was
I was with you
you're my
alibi.

Oh my, what a beautiful photograph, leaves and branches on the left, then unadorned space on the right, the moon in the middle. Lovely just absolutely lovely.😍 This was a poem to the moon. I loved that. I like that towards the end you said it was your alibi. I like how you tied it all together in the end. Truth be told, the moon knows all our secrets. Wait let me read again, this actually has a really good flow. ‘All my hopes, Like frizzy ropes’ * Hopes ropes, know. Aahhh that’s so satisfying to read those lines with those words together. All the o’s in a row, with the exception of 3 skipped lines was a fine choice. 👌🏽
Love it! Very relatable and beautiful! :)
Well-wrought!
This was a sweet poem. I loved it!
Yes, the moon. Something comforting about it always.
Delightful lullaby… the moon is a favourite of mine!😊
I saw the moon today from under a tree canopy, and got pensive. We talk to nature, is not it?
