Luck

Luck?

By Vicious AvaricePublished 2 years ago 1 min read

All my life I’ve been known

To be lucky

At dice, at happenstance

It’s proven every day

My timing always seems

To be just right

My actions taken

Right when the door opens

And it made me smile

How lucky I was

And I bragged about it

And I thought god smiled upon me

But…

Now I don’t know

Now something has happened

That makes me question everything

When you lose the only thing

You ever cared about

All the little things you were given

Don’t seem so special

Was I ever truly lucky?

Did god really grant me all those things?

Because if I was

If this is the swing that went the other way

It wasn’t worth it

I’d trade every ounce of luck

Where it never really mattered

For a single drop of it

Where it meant everything
