even when we were sure it was over
and cried to each other about how our dreams
wouldn't come true.
Loving you has always been loving
has always been nurturing
has always been kind
has always been soft.
Loving you has always been unconditional
even when we were sure things were done.
Loving you has always been endless
infinite
empowering
love.
Even when the storms came
and the rain spattered
and the wind roared
because once the dust settled
and the storm cleared
you were still there
and I was still there
holding each other
in the middle of it all
waiting for it to be over
grateful to be each other's.
Loving you hasn't always been easy,
but it has never been hard.
