Loves Me, Loves Me Not

Loves me, loves me not

cannot work

for those who cannot love being alone

with their own mind.

You give an inch

they took a mile,

while you’re struggling to keep afloat.

Some sparkle gave you hope

that the rope will tie a knot

back onto their heart

and never break each other apart.

Desperation is a disease that will spread

to the heart

to the mind

until you are consumed by the chances you continue to give

to someone unworthy.

Does not love me, will not love me,

reality settles

for a while,

until you find another flower and that glimmer of false hope.

Do they love me?

Will they love me?

Loves me...not?
